Got one speeding ticket i was in labor with my first kid…. cop didn’t belive me till my water broke and still gave me the ticket. LOL

1. what is your most-used software program?
My Psp8…. it helps when you create your own blog templates

2. what is your most-used hardware device?
I’d have to say it would be a tie between my Ipod and my CD writer. 

3. is there a software or hardware device that you currently do not know how to use but would like to learn how to use?
Not on my computer right now…. which is sad lol  

4. so you have the choice between a hard, crunchy taco or a soft tortilla-wrapped one … which do you prefer? 
I prefer hard taco’s…. tho if i go to taco bell… i get the “cheesy gordita crunch” which is a combo of both lol

5. my father refuses soft-serve ice cream a la twistee treat (altho he has stock there, but whatever), mcdonald’s, etc. do you prefer hard ice cream over soft-serve like my dad, or does it not matter as long as you have something sweet?
I like soft serve  and prefer it if i am out.  Raised on DQ here so it was soft serve all the way

6. when you have a list of tasks ahead, do you tackle them hardest to easiest or in no particular order?
I think i’m one that gets the little things out of the way first that way i can spend more time on the longer tasks because they are usually more attention demanding

7. what is the hardest thing you’ve ever had to tell someone?
wow…. besides telling my girls “NO” to something… i’d have to say telling my Ex that it was time for him to leave and we were over.

8. today is my friend’s dad’s memorial service, which is being held in lieu of a funeral (at his request). it’s seriously going to be hard to act merry & party, even though there is going to be a keg and BBQ, etc. i love his mom so much, it’s going to be hard for me to enjoy myself due to the reason why we’re all gathering today. what was the last hard situation you’ve had to sit/go through?
My uncles funeral in april.  It was the first close family member we lost and my 8 year old was very close to him. 

A Saturday Break

this week, we’re talking turkey. well, except frederick, who lives in the UK and i’m assuming didn’t celebrate turkey day… his questions are included, too.

1. so, how was thanksgiving for you this year? relaxing? fraught with tension? give us the scoop. (frederick – tell us how your week went since you’re in the UK!)
It unfortunaltly is the same every year.  Family comes in from the south takes over and then leaves dishes to do.  This year was relaxing though, it seems my Uncle’s new wife sorta came in and took over and i let her.  lol

2. did you give any of your money to Black Friday yesterday, either in-person or online? (again, frederick, sorry … tell us if you’re shopping this weekend)
I went and got one gift for my girls… i  couldn’t pass it up…. i don’t normally go shopping on the day after because of the crowds and i’m clostraphobic.

3. with christmas and hanukkah being a few weeks away, do you have any holiday shopping done this year yet?
I have done none…. yes i’m lazy and i hate christmas shopping LOL

4. are you taking any trips this holiday season? where to, or why not?
I like christmas in Michigan…. it feels like christmas… snow and cold.  I like it here and have only gone somewhere else twice.   

5. i’m going to iceland in a few weeks where the weather is actually very temperate (30s). every time i tell someone i’m going there, i hear “iceland is green, and greenland is ice.” seriously, it’s getting aggravating and i feel like i’m just going to punch someone if i hear it again. what is someone (or people in general) doing/saying lately that is wearing on your last nerve?
My youngest has been workin on her christmas list and keeps reinterating that she wants that new Furreal Friends Butterscotch pony  (Walmart has a display with a working one….. how nice huh???)  the freakin thing is 300 bucks…. for that i could rent her a real one.  It has becone a once a day conversation in our house and i just laugh and tell her to keep dreamin. 

6. today is the florida-florida state NCAA football game. The Husband is a florida alum, and i began my undergrad career at florida state (my undergrad and graduate alma maters have “questionable” – read: embarrassing – football teams). is there a rivalry that you are particularly interested in, whether it be NFL, NBA, NHL, british footie, equestrian showjumping, tanya harding vs. nancy kerrigan … you get me.
The Michigan vs Ohio State game is a huge one here in my house every year.  Friends and family come and watch and we have a big feast. 

7. my eldest child just poured 2 cups of water INTO my coffee maker, effectively giving me coloured water to drink. how important is morning coffee to you, if at all?
My kids run and hide if i don’t have coffee in the morning.  My oldest has even gotten to the point that if she is up before i am she turns the coffee pot on for me. 

8. did you take a “turkey nap” on thursday? (frederick … tell us the last time you had a turkey)
No time for a nap this year… tho i did go to bed early.  I was up at 4am that day lol

It’s Monday and too damn early for this shit

Coffee in hand… well on the desk in front of me i sit down in the silence of the house after gently nudging my wonderful loveable knee hugger out the door for another day of school.   A Holiday week which means here she only has 2 days of school.  (what the hell is that about… back in my day….. oh we won’t go there)
Lunch packed—- Check
Snack packed—- Check
Matching shoes—- Check
Everything in back pack—-Check
Hugs and Kisses—Check
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh after an hour of rushing and nudging and mindless babbling and i can sit down with my first full cup of coffee and think quietly about what my “To-Do” list is for the day and the week.  The mind goes completely blank and i just sit here thinking…. Man it’s too damn early for this shit. 
So sitting here now with the quiet hum of the washing machine, I can at least say i did something today.  
The phone rings and i cringe looking at the caller id.  First thing i think is… isn’t it a lil early to call someone it is only 8:30 am and noone has realisticly logical thoughts at 8:30 am … But,  it’s family (which we all know they are never logical when it comes to phone calls)  calling about the planned invasion of my house on thursday.   That is to say I plan on Thursday but they plan on a whole week of festivities.   My Aunt is so sweet she just tells me what i’m going to do and whats going to happen like i planned the whole thing.   I sit there smiling knowing that if i had the guts i’d just say something smart-assish like… “Can’t you just drive for 10 hours show up and eat and get back on the road again”.  But no…. I’m a good Neice, i just say ok and then add 5 more people for dinner because She and my Uncle conviced my cousin and his family to come along for the ride.   I hang up the phone and look at my nicely planned To-Do list and start over again. 
After 5 minutes of drinking my now luke warm coffee staring at my computer screen and this wonderful post i have to wonder why the hell am i here.  Now don’t get me wrong over the years i have found that blogging is great and i used to be quite prolific at it.   After a break… a long one i’m back again.   I have to wonder what exactly that means for me.  Do i REALLY have that much to bitch about.  God knows i have the time but do i really have that much to say.   I’m not a teenager comming on to bitch about teachers and cliques and that girl with the green hair that looked at me funny today.  I’m a single mom in a boring state with a low economy on a rather forced medical leave.  Who the hell wants to hear thoes kind of rantings???   But, i sit down and give it a shot once again.  After wading through the set up and finding just the right template and posting a few random things trying to find my voice again.  I proceed.   Call it boredom… to much time on one’s hands or just the hidden longing to find common ground with someone… anyone.  

So i sit back in my chair again and stare at my screen thinking…. Man it’s just way too damn early for this shit.
